Jon is a metocean engineer with experience in defining, managing and delivering metocean measurements since 1992. Following more than a decade of employment with a global metocean services provider, he moved into the operator environment with a global energy company, spending fifteen years as a metocean engineer in oil & gas managing the end-user aspects of measurements and data analysis. Over the last five years, Jon has been working specifically on metocean requirements for offshore wind development projects.

Having left the ‘staff’ environment, Jon set up Coastal & Ocean Surveys Limited, to work with both suppliers and developers in the delivery of metocean measurement activities.

Learning and development, both in a personal sense and in supporting others, is important and rewarding for Jon so he aims to continue sharing experiences where this is beneficial. Jon enjoyed working in a team lead capacity in both previous roles, because he gains great satisfaction in helping and seeing others grow.
